Hey all hope everyone had a lovely weekend I had a quite Saturday but today was pretty darn Epic. And not just because of the Epic Wimby final between Roger and Andy though congrats to the both of them for that and to Roger for managing to pull through the winner. No the real epicness came when I went to the Goodwill in a town about thirty ( Read more... )

What a fantastic find! I got my Kate Spade bag at the local Salvation Army for $10, I was pretty psyched over it. I did a little happy dance for people who give away stuff like that ;)

The kids really love The Lightning Thief - I have it on my library queue and should get it soon, can't wait to read it.

I still can't believe it...I keep having to check that I do actually have the purse and didn't just imagine the whole thing. It's my first major find and I'm most definitely squeey about it. Still I doubt I'll even do more then be in book-buying mode when I go to thrift stores. I'm just not patient enough to look through everything for the good stuff.

The first book is really great lots of pure fun without too much "thinking" involved though it's really smartly written in terms of using the classical source and twisting it into the modern. I really hope the rest of the books continue to hold up to the standard and that the movie is good as well.

Okaaaay, I just made a comment and LJ totally ate it. I have NO idea what just happened *snerk*

Anyway, I LOL'ed and said I did the same thing with my purse. I'm pretty sure petting was involved, a lot of stroking, etc. and Jake made big time fun of me but it was TOTALLY worth it *g*

I don't know a lot about Greek myths but I love reading about them and I love when people mess with traditional stories/tales like that.

Edit: And NOW my comment shows up...wtf, LJ? wtf? Anyway, sorry about the inbox spammage ;) I'm going to go delete the first one now. Sheesh *rolls eyes*

Yeah there's been lots of petting involved with mine as well and I was totally almost not even going to use it because I was afraid I'd mess it up like I do with the Prada purse I got off EBay that I usually only use for special occasions. Though honestly that's mostly because it's too small for everyday use more then anything else. But then I decided screw it and used it. The Coach one's actually smaller then I usually like too (I like a purse where I can get a book into it) but that's okay...I'll take it.

It's a lot of fun. I'm a big time Geek Myth geek so that made it even better but the characters are fairly likeable and the dialogue is funny so yeah...it's good.

LOL...don't you just love LJ sometimes?

I have no idea what kind of purse it is, never heard of it but I'm sure it was a lucky thing to find it. :)

Coach is a pretty popular brand right now they're not super duper expensive like Louie Vuitton or Hermes but they're a well made middle type brand though some of the bigger purses do run between $400 and $500 dollars.

I'm very thrilled with the find my first real thrifting score... :-)

I'd heard Sean might be playing Zeus but didn't realize it was from books, or that the story was modern America with Greek Gods. That does sound interesting.

Congrats on the purse find!

I think he's for sure playing it since IMDB has it listed as currently being filmed but it *is* IMDB so yeah...who knows... *snerks* The story is really, really entertaining just a great unique concept that was very well done.

I'm still in shock about it... *beams*
