Went and had the ultrasound this morning. At first the lady said she couldn't detect anything and sent me to the hospital to have the Hida Scan done. I was pretty disappointed because the Hida Scan was something I didn't want done because they send radioactive chemicals through your body via an IV. Somehow radioactive chemicals in my body just ( Read more... )

I'm glad they were able to pinpoint what was wrong so it can be treated. Praying for a quick recovery and comfort!

Elliott had gallstones too? My goodness. I miss that man:)

You and I can start our own chat club ;) lol Didn't you tell me at one point the only thing you could stomach was popcicles? I thought about you this week when all of this was going on. When all the bad stuff was happening Monday I wanted to ask you which was worse? Labor or passing a gallstone? Because if labor is worse, forget about it. :D

Gallstones can be caused by many things, obesity (ugh), high cholesterol, pregnancy age, etc. I had Jacob March 28th. June 9th I had over 250 tiny gallstones removed as well as my gallbladder. I weighed 250 the day I had Jacob. When they weighed me for my surgery I was 140. I wish I could have stayed that small but unfortunately I lost 90% of that weight due to starvation. I ate popsicles, dry whole wheat fat free bread (yes it's as disgusting as it sounds) and water ( ... )

Glad that you got some answers. Now if you can get some cooperation to get things taken care of, eh. What causes those things in the first place and how can you prevent them???

just curious, take care

I'm not sure what causes the gall stones yet. I haven't felt up to researching them much this week because it is painful to sit up. Now that it isn't as painful I plan to do a lot of research though. What I do know is that gallstones are simply balls of calcium. I don't know what brings them on. The Sonographer told me that it doesn't matter your age, size or gender though.

I'll let you know what I find out though.

Much love,
Amy

Amy, Glad things are going better for you and that you are more able to see some relief in the near future than before you got any info. I see it the same for you as it was when you went to pick up Ethan - kind of like a rescue type of thing, you know feeling relief when you are uncomfortable and you see a familiar face of someone who loves you!
I am curious like Tam is about these things. Are you getting any info on them? Or do you care to? Keep us posted as to what is next. Praying you have a quick and easy recovery! Deb :)

I'm not young. The lady that checked me in yesterday had my birthdate wrong and made me 29!
