Six Days to Live...

I want you to seriously think about this because the fact of the matter is: life is too short to waste. I know, I know… cliché, right? It might be, but if you were to look deep down and think about all of the things you want to do with your life and haven’t yet done, you’ll realize what I’m talking about. Carpe Diem is the name of the game, folks. Seize the day.

I’m 20 years old and haven’t even come close to touching most of the items on my pseudo to-do list. Yes, I’m well aware that I’ve still got “plenty” of time, but how do I know that? How do I know that I won’t get hit by a bus tomorrow, or struck by lightning in one week? How do I know that I’ll really have the time to do any single one of the things that I want to do before I die? It’s really a morbid and terrifying thought, but the truth hurts, and it is part of the beauty of life. You don’t know when it could be over, so you have to live it to the best of your ability in the now.

Don’t hold back. Hold nothing back, because if you do, you might never have the chance to get it out. Smile at a stranger in the street who looks like they might be having a bad day. Help your peers through any kind of emotional turmoil they might be struggling through. Pat them on the back and tell them you’re there for when they need you. Don’t hesitate to tell somebody how amazing they are and how much they mean to you, but most importantly, don’t hesitate to say, “I love you” to any single person you care about.

I think the most important thing that I could even say here, through all of this hokey and cliché babble, is that no matter how tough it gets, no matter how horrible it might seem, and no matter how low you might sink… remember that there is ALWAYS a shoulder to lean on, and you’ll get through it. Keep your chin up, and know that there’s always hope and light on the other side.

And what would be my first and last thing that I would do? Well first, I would go out west and see the Rockies for the first time in my life, and last, I would surround myself with all of the friends and family I could knowing that I spent my last minutes with the people that I cared about the most.

… Oh, and somewhere in those six days, I’d make sure to get up on stage and sing some karaoke.

All You Need is Love - Beatles

Love, Love, Love.
Love, Love, Love.
Love, Love, Love.

There's nothing you can do that can't be done.
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game.
It's easy.

Nothing you can make that can't be made.
No one you can save that can't be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time.
It's easy.

All you need is love.
All you need is love.
All you need is love, love.
Love is all you need.

Nothing you can know that isn't known.
Nothing you can see that isn't shown.
Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be.
It's easy.
