Sometimes you just gotta have some fun!

Yesterday at lunch I had simply had enough of the worry. It was ruining my day. So, I left work, took a leisurely drive home, sat at my table, talked to my kitties and decided i was going to do something FUN that night and stop thinking about the damn showcase.

To get to fun, we had to get the not-so-fun out of the way first. We had an insurance agent come to the house so we could get a decent amount of life insurance on each other. The sudden and unexpected death of a friend a few weeks ago really got me thinking about making sure B had all he needed should something happen to me. Once the papers were signed and the check made out a burden was lifted and we could get on with the good!

We decided to go bowling. Oh yes, that was a trip! Did I mention I don't really bowl so well? Let's see...I dropped the ball close to my foot a few times, I fell down the lane, pulled something in my shoulder and gave the few other people there at 4:30 in the afternoon something to laugh about! B and I cha-cha'd to a few random tunes played through the system. After our 3 games were up we headed over to the arcade area and played air hockey (our favorite- - we make bets on whomever will win 2 out of 3. B won. But he was a good sport and gave me a foot massage anyway. Then we played Area 51 where I love to shoot things. I got further than ever!

We weren't done having fun yet so we went to the Greenway and ended up walking 4 miles in the humid (but cooler) air. It was pretty and lots of people were out with their dogs so we got some social interaction. By this time it was 7:00 and we decided to go get mexican. We picked up a Nashville Scene and discovered "Strangers With Candy" the movie, was playing at the Belcourt Theater, but no time for us to eat and make it there so we resigned ourselves to renting it on video eventually.

Once at home we watched my FAVORITE travel channel show EVAH - Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations. Any travel show that has to put the warning about how it may be inappropriate for children, is okay in my book. The guy is hysterical and when he travels he really finds the things about the area that are way beyond the usual tourist traps. He refers to it as the anti-tourist show.

MIdway through that whole evening I finally said "who gives a crap about this damn dance showcase. Who cares if I'm overdressed and who cares if I make little mistakes here and there in the program - I know the routine, I could care less about becoming a pro dancer - I think I"m safe" and took a deep sigh of relief. I still feel twinges, but right now I'm feeling okay and am ready to enjoy the rest of my weekend!

Have a good one!
