It has come to my attention that I am SPOILED because I expect that the managers of the hotel put employees in positions where they can succeed and will do the best job they can and at the very least be TRAINED to do what position they command. So when our former preventative maintenance employee who moonlights as a banquet set up person is suddenly dropped into a night audit position that commands a hair more intelligence than the a regular desk clerk and he/she messes up because you as their superior and manager did not have time to train said person, I am supposed to not be a bit peeved that I don't get my reports? Or at the very least get the daily folios checked into the proper rooms when I have PERSONALLY put the room numbers in the system and placed a comment of "DO NOT MOVE". Your employee can't read and that is me being spoiled. OK. Same employee checked out a folio with a $1800.00 balance to cash and he/she did not collect the cash. So when his/her shift is over and he'she sees that there is a deposit due of $1800 and he/she realizes they don't have it and continues ANYWAY, that too is me being spoiled? Your clerk, by all intents and purposes owes the company $1800 that they supposedly collected and didn't drop but I am spoiled. Really? How about you train your clerks? How about you being best buds with the acting GM not come into play and you do your job as if you weren't BFFs with the GM like the rest of us?
Ain't nobody got time for that!
