YOURCODENAMEIS:MILO

Kind of a spur of the moment thing tonight. Dave, Hardy, and I decided to go see yourcodenameis:milo at the cluny in Newcastle. First time i've been to the cluny, it's a strange little place, and the bass speakers are brutal. which is a good thing. The first band on were called, well they had 'paper cut' in their name and that's all i remember. None of my friends liked them but me being me did. They were kind of like the plot to blow up the eiffel tower. Basically harsh noise. Music that makes you want to throw yourself at things . Always fun. I didn't participate in any hurting of one self though, I was an old man near the bar. The next band were called Louie who were fantastic. Libertines-esque. They also gave out free stickers, cd's and vinyls so I got my fair share of freebies and that seemed to win me over. They had a lot of energy which is great to see and they played like their lives depended on it. Next in line, in their only gig before a festival abroad i believe, were yourcodenameis:milo. Now, i've heard their cd's and i've never been too keen on them, but after seeing them live my opinion has changed. They were superb. Their live sound is so sharp, you have to witness it to truly appreciate what a good band they are. They won me over, it definitely made sense why people travelled to Newcastle from London and Ireland to see this show.

I did take pictures on my phone but they're piss-poor so I wont post them.

If you wanna check out LOUIE, here's their myspace: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=36213476 - the quality of the recordings aren't great, but you get the jist.
