Aha, yesh. Ok, first post here then I suppose.
Went to see TEST ICICLES last Sunday in the lovely venue Melkweg in Amsterdam. They played in the small venue and opening up for them was a Dutch band called ABOUT PARIS. It was the first time I've seen ABout Paris but they convinced me enough to make me want to see them again. They kind of combined the present uptempo British dancerock tunes with new wave gothic-esque sounds and voice. Test Icicles were... interesting. They were surely energetic and hyper, jumping and screaming around, taking turns singing in the microphone and playing their guitars (no drums or bass here!) What they were doing was fun in a way, but the lack of coherence in the songs ended up being rather obnoxious. Plus their rockstar attitude seemed too cliche ("fuck you, fuck off, clap your hands for us fuckers, bla bla bla bleugh") and got quite annoying as well. So all in all: fun to see, but one time is more than enough. Luckily for me the show was for free, but I wouldn't spend too much money on them.
Oh, yea. My name is Niels, I'm 24 year old, I live and study in Amsterdam and I love musica. So yes, Metal-Pop-Rock-Classical-Emo-Hardcore-Whatevercore-Punkrock-Electro-Folk-Gothic-Newwave you name it. Lets's stick with Musica.
