Yes, I'm [fortunately] leaving Tampa -- and moving out of my apartment -- in fewer than 3 days, but I still have to put up with my shitty roommate, who had few to no redeeming qualities. Let me think...
-twice, while I was practicing flute, she yelled "shut up!" -- while I can't know for sure whether or not this was intended for me, I can't help but despise someone who would be so rude; what I would say to her if I wasn't such a wimp: "Sorry that you don't have my musical ability; let me hand this expensive instrument to you and see what you can do with it. Oh, right. Never mind. You might break it. Worse, you might hold it the wrong way."
-she's at least somewhat racist, and [seriously] I've heard her refer to African Americans using the "n" word; she has made racist-ish jokes around me, and I pretended to laugh, or didn't react at all; what I would say to her if I wasn't such a wimp: "What makes you think it's okay to talk that way? Who are you to judge people like that?"
-she doesn't seem very grateful: her parents bought her a bike for her birthday, which was months ago, and she's had the bike sitting, opened, in a box; what I would say to her if I wasn't such a wimp: "Your parents just spent hundreds of dollars on a present for you, and you're not even going to bother trying to put it together? You're an ungrateful bitch."
-she's SO negative; I started to dislike her from the very beginning, mostly due to her attitude. It's hard to explain, but if you were in a room with her, you'd understand; what I would say to her if I wasn't such a wimp: "Cheer up. Don't complain all the time. I'll share my happy pills."
-she swears A LOT, and it seems as though "fuck" is every other word; maybe this shocks & bothers me because I hardly ever swear, except quietly to myself, or in the car when frustrated. I'm fine with people swearing every once in awhile, using "fuck" for effect, but she sometimes says things like "fucking cunt" [I hate to type that out, but I wanted to give you an idea of what I'm dealing with]; what I would say if I wasn't such a wimp: "Whoa, calm down. No need to swear so much."
-she smokes, which definitely makes me think less of people; at least, however, she doesn't do it in the house
-she's basically an alcoholic, and I've even heard her joke about it, but that's no joke; what I would say to her: "Getting drunk all the time and passing out and getting sick is NOT cool. I can understand drinking more than most because you're a bartender, but you really have a problem."
-she has a boyfriend (WHY?! I've been single for nearly 26 years and she's had BF's?! So UNFAIR) and, from what I've seen/heard, she doesn't treat him very well; she seems to make him do stuff for her, and she yells at him like it's no big deal. What I would say to her: "You're lucky you have a boyfriend. If you want to keep him, stop treating him like shit."
-along those same lines, she yells and says mean things to her dog; I know this doesn't sound bad, because it's not as though the dog can hear her, but still, it annoys me (and upsets me). What I would say to her: "Love your dog. She's a part of your family."
-she's very messy, and she has the biggest room & her own bathroom (I have to share with my other roommate, which isn't a big deal); she waits until the last minute to dispose of moldy/old foods (she has lots of take-out leftovers in the fridge right now, which takes up so much room). What I would say to her: "You really need to clean up your messes. This is disgusting. Didn't your parents teach you how to clean up after yourself?"
-I know I shouldn't be so looks-obsessed, but she's not exactly attractive enough for me to understand why/how she sleeps around (her BF's not good-looking, but still); her personality makes her ugly. She's not fat, but she's not thin or fit either, and often she walks around without any pants/bottoms on. What I would say to her: "FYI, you don't have the apartment to yourself right now. Please put some fucking pants on."
That's not everything, but you get the picture.
