I have never been so pissed off in my entire life. I was in a Yahoo! Chat Room (Christian Chat) and there were was this one person who kept poking fun at this other guy for being a muslim. Oh...I forgot...the guy also called this person a liar. I do not give a damn what others think but you do not call someone a liar for asking questions. I confronted the person via IM and his exact words were somewhere along the lines of he was tired of having a one-sided conversation with the person. I mean, does the golden rule apply in a case like this or has it gone astray to the side? I mean, it is a disgrace to me that someone who calls himself/herself a Protestant (or Christian) and pokes fun of other people of other religions. I wish that people would ask themselves to either respect the person for what religion they are or not say nothing at all. Is it not simple enough to keep the tongue silent when another religion comes into a chat room to converse with others instead of being slammed b/c of their religion and call them a liar? I mean, has it come to the point where we have to poke fun of someone in order to get attention or make others suffer b/c of the person being made fun of.
I am just totally upset that I had to witness this and had to fight back to defend the person. Do we have to defend our religion to make outsiders feel unwelcome and poke fun? I just hope that this person does not go off and say that I was not welcomed b/c of my religion.
The Jerm....OUT!!!!!!!!!!
