Painted Alive - The Fine Art Body Painting of Craig Tracy
My friends, Dawn and Joel of Moonhowler Productions stumbled across an exhibition led by Craig Tracy on their way back from Hong Kong. D&J landed in Florida with the rest of the American staff for Ocean Park’s Halloween Bash, and decided to take the long way back to Milwaukee - the route that goes through New Orleans (where the exhibition was) and Texas.
Auriel, the model I’ve been regularly experimenting with for nearly 6 months now, has been interested in delving into body paint and photography in much the same way that I’ve been exploring light projections. Since I’m worse with a paintbrush than I am with a charcoal stick, I approach this concept nervously. When you look at the sort of work that professional bodypainters can do, it gets a little disheartening: I’m still learning to draw, and these guys have moved past traditional canvas shapes!
