So, I listened to "Chain of Flowers" today, while the plumbers were here, and man! Even over the sounds of banging and sawing, your voice was lovely and so sad. I think, when I first read this fic, my take on Harley was more.... "this is creepy", especially in what I perceived as her disassociation from reality, but your version of her was so very sad - even as she was pretending to leave, her resignation and despondency stood out. Like, Harley was aware of her inextricable link to Joker, and was trying to make the best of an untenable situation...instead of not being altogether cognizant of her position (which was sort of how I saw her). Your take was just gut-punching - Harley's last thoughts to herself just seemed so very hopeless. I was depressed when I finished your podfic - go you, and your emotionally evocative voice!
Hey, I can't figure out what's going on with this podbook and the ones from your previous post. They download as, for example: 'Identity Crisis.m4b.mp4' and will open only in QuickTime. If I try to change the tag, my Finder crashes.
Help!
ETA: Further info. I think the problem lies in changes--of which there are many--made in Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, which I upgraded to and am now playing around with. Of course, I have no idea at this juncture what the problem is or if it will be resolved in the future, but at the moment it appears your podbooks are not compatible with the system.
Anyway, I re-downloaded one of your older podbooks, which did not present a problem in OS X 10.6, and the same thing happened. The new OS doesn't recognize the files as m4bs and adds the mp4 tag at the end after downloading.
I don't know if this will happen to everyone who upgrades to Lion or if it's some setting I have enabled somewhere. If I find out more, I'll let you know.
Final Update With Workaround SolutionOkay, here's where I am now. The files still

Thanks so much for the heads up on this, and the workaround! Unfortunately, I'm on Windows OS, so there's not a whole lot I can do unless the software developer releases an update :(
Although...could I ask one more favor? Would you be willing to try downloading and testing either the Peck on the Lips anthology or the Amplificathon 2011 New Fandoms anthology? I actually use two different programs for audiobook conversion, and I know I definitely used the other one for both of those. If those work, then I'll just start using that program for compiling exclusively. It's a bit fiddlier, but if it'll help out the mac people, I'm willing to make the sacrifice ;)
Would you like me to make an info:podbooks post detailing this problem, your workaround for end users, and my workaround for compilers using Windows OS?

I think you made Harley a very sympathetic character in your reading, as opposed to a sinister one. I like it.
