So, I'm working my way through Season Four of the New Doctor Who (as it was just released on InstaPlay for Netflix.) Yesterday, I watched The Unicorn and Wasp, as you probably already guessed.

IT WAS SO CRACKY AND AWESOME! )

I rewatched this ep on Saturday, definitely one of the "WTF" eps.
The vicar didn't remind me of turlough at all but I haven't seen any of his eps in two years, so I may not be the best judge.

Have you seen much of the current season?

See, but that's what I love about Who! It can still pull off WTF. Star Trek for example peaked at WTF sometime in '67 with the "he has to get laid or he'll go crazy and die" episode, or possibly the gender swap.

He actually really didn't until the last 15 min of the ep where they all realize he's the alien-baby. I sensed a very Turlough-esque shifty look, but I figure it's probably just me. I do have to warn you, I'm kinda infatuated with Turlough as a companion so if I make a reference to him a lot, I apologize in advance.

I've seen up to Time of the Angels. Still not sure what to think, but I adore Eleven. Possibly even more than Ten. I hate the new River though, way too cocky.

Probably I'll catch up this week as I've got my younger cousin coming over and after turning him on to Who he finds my house a safe haven for watching marathons and being the stereotypical fanboy.

Farscape is the best example of a tv show that mojored in WTF

I'm not a very turlough-y person, I only have one gif of him :(

I felt that the older River was humbler due to her time with the Doctor and I liked that. I'm all for strong feminism and GRLPWR as some would say, but just can't help it.

But she's pretty smokin' with her haired tied backand the military outfit. A good plus.

Ah, Frontios how I oddly love thee. That clip looks awfully slashy out of context. Actually, it's kinda slashy in context too. I don't really care that much for canon shipping, but I can imagine what I want. My mind is kinda like the Pompidou Centre. Messy looking on the outside, but with a sense of order to it.

She fails when judged by feminist standards. my friends like sto refer to her as "Moff's ultimate women" because she is manipulative, deceitful and needs the doctor to get her out of truble she put herself into. She has the whole femme fatale thing going on, i think.

lol

Just 'awfully slashy' you say? I would say it looks a bit more slashy then 'awfully slashy'

It's true, but from what I hear Moff has some serious gender equality issues going on, so we'll have to stick with what we can get. And I'm gonna Miss RTD's gay agenda, to be honest. I never cared much for femme fatales, because age old tropes follow them like the pied piper.

I say awfully slashy, because my prim, two-years-of-catholic-school, mind doesn't really have words harsher than that to describe such a scene. All I can say, is that's the reason why I ship Five/Turlough.

I'm going to miss his gay agenda too D: Dr who is less fun without all the background characters sleeping with other background characters

Can I put words in your mouth? How about "hot fucking damn thats slashy!"

I find it great that it's a kids show, but can imply sex possibly going on, but the kids won't think of it at all.

HOT, FUCKING, DAMN THAT'S SLASHY! ;) Now must go read some of my favorite Five/Turlough fic. I just think that out of the male companions (par Jack) Turlough seems like he'd be the most willing.
