Five totally deep, answers will effect our understanding of the universe type of questions from
surreallifehero .
1)Why isn't Fake News RPF? Where do you draw the line?
As long as one of the two is a character I don't mind so much. So "Stephen", "Bobby" and "Tad" with anyone else is totally okay with me. Nor do I mind doing it within the spectrum of Fake News Rumble. So I guess as long as the people in question are being written as some deviation from their actual selves. This way, I don't feel I'm impeding on their privacy or insulting their personal lives.
There shall be "Stephen"/John Oliver fic!
2)Who are the two guys dancing in your icon? I feel like I should know, but I don't.
Ever seen Strangers With Candy? Well, the dancers are Stephen Colbert (front) and Paul Dinello (back.) In this episode (one of the greatest BTW), Paul's character, Geoffrey Jellineck (self absorbed, fey, art teacher), is pretending to be in a fake marriage with the PE/Health Teacher (Cherri) in order to set an example for the students as they engage in a project of fake marriage in order to learn responsiblity. Colbert's character, Chuck Noblet, gets a BIT over protective of Geoffrey (who is his secret gay lover, despite Noblet being married) and decides to take him out bowling to remind him who he REALLY belongs to. This dancing is right after Chuck scores a strike, but of course that's all part of Chuck's nefarious plan, as he later agrees to "teach" Geoffrey how to bowl a strike. Since a Colbert character is obviously a sly fox, this involves standing pressed up against Geoffrey's back, grasping his chest from behind, whispering/breathing into his ear/on neck and the whole thing looking a bit . . . wrong. But, his plans fail when Geoffrey says he may can't stay, because he needs to go over the budget with Cherri. In anger Colbert's character swings the ball away so hard he knocks a woman in the background unconscious. Once Geoffrey leaves, further enraged by the Geoffrey's revelation that he uses Chuck's marriage as a model to aspire to, because he and his wife probably have "a grand ol time" Noblet swings a bowling ball so heard he breaks a hole in the alley wall. It's kinda epic.
3)What is the theme of your mood theme? It makes absolutely no sense.
It's a mixture of Strangers With Candy and Blackadder (a historical, british comedy from the 80s with most notably Rowan Atkinson, Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry.) However, I've already saved the jpgs to be adding Two Era doctor who soon!
4)Why don't you rec' more fanfic? Where do you find it all? I don't think I've read a thing you have rec'd that I didn't like. (Probably not true.)
Y'know, I SHOULD rec more fanfic since I DO have quite a collection. Tell ya what, this weekend I'll do a mega rec post of all my favorite fics in multi fandoms (many you guys probably never heard of, but whatever, it'll be a good comprehensive list for me at the least.)
5)Karl Urban: Lord of the Rings, or Star Trek? Or Lord of the Rings?
Hmm, I'm sensing a slight bias here . . .
I'm going to be infuriating and say I don't know.
LOTR: Yes, because he originated the character's role. No, because I don't like men with long hair.
ST: Yes, because he's cuter and he's LEORNARD MCCOY. No, because he's LEORNARD MCCOY and somehow doesn't sound like he's smoked cigarettes all his life. Travesty! Sorry, DeFoe (as my friends and I affectionately call him) will always be my Bones.
I was looking through
surreallifehero 's past posts to try and find fanfic/new vocab words/any posts that might clarify my confusion on whether you go to school in Iowa or Arizona and I have a few things of note.
-Captain Kirk is not from Iowa. Only in '09's alternate universe. Why yes, I am a Trekker.
-You spend A LOT of time blogging for kitchens and bed rooms.
-You definitely repeated words, although I can't remember which ones they are.
-I never realized what a great taste in music you have: Owl City, Scissor Sisters, Led Zeppelin, the Killers, Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Pink Floyd, Kinks, Hans Zimmer, Lily Allen, the Offspring, Coldplay
-Vehicular manslaughter is now one of my favourite phrases.
-The Big Bang Theory/Turlough = SO MUCH WIN. Please write more TBBT fanfic, your Sheldon is amazing!
-I thought I could deal with puns after listening to hours of the Bugle and your Earth Science summaries, but "you might even say ILL'iad!" broke my brain.
-Thank you for enriching my vocabulary list by at least 10, if not more (i'm a lazy counter.)
-Your K9 translation program is fantastic! I love how "Screw you bitch I'm going off by myself!" becomes "I will attempt a solo mission without the master. You derogatory slander." lol
-Your icon image of Colbert is now permanently burnt into my brain, goddamit. I actually don't really mind, but still those eyes following my every thought . . .
