God, I am such a geek. So basically the title says it all. I get a weird feeling of exhilaration mapping out my route through higher education. I haven't seriously researched colleges (I got distracted by the Oxbridge scarves PRETTY COLOURS!) but I have been probing different majors. How are we supposed to decide this, because although I'm pretty certain I'm going for neuroscience I wish I could take classes other liberal/literal arts oriented classes. Do you think I'll be able to be a clinical neurologist even though I can't see well? Like, will people hire me even though I can't operate on the problems I find?
Mom and Dad are pushing for Columbia, because they're both alumni. I'm not sure whether I want to go Ivy, seems a bit contrived and stereotypical for someone of my status. Somewhere with reasonable reputation, for sure, but unique as fits my personality: I excel as our society dictates, but I always want to do it differently, interesting.
Should I take SAT IIs in literature/mathematics/history if I'm not going to be majoring in those subjects?
All this academia is reminding me: I need a flippin' job. Stat. Or at least an internship.
