The very bad...and the good
In case anyone has not heard the sad news, Don S. Davis (General Hammond) has passed away. Thank you, Don, for years of entertainment. I cannot imagine Stargate without you.
And then there's the good... so, that job that I applied for? I got it (yay!). Not only that, but I'm being made Team Leader of the new job I applied for. So that means a nice bump in pay (new manager said possibly salary, but I'm not sure about that) and 2 months of guaranteed commission while we get up and running (if he ever gives me a commission worksheet). I'm a little terrified of being put in command of a department (happily my team is only 2 people), but really excited by the new challenge (I get bored in my jobs rather easily, which isn't good).
I start management & department training next week, and when I mentioned that I had to leave maybe an hour early on the 25th (to fly to Indy--also: why am I using so many parentheses this post?), he said "No problem! Leave at noon if you want!" o.O Yeah...pretty psyched.
