(no subject)
I can't believe how long I've had an lj, it's kind of amazing. Hah.
So many weird memories. I suppose I'm glad that they're documented somewhere so I can randomly browse them and remember what I was like years back. It's eye-opening. I'm glad my typing isn't as horrible and I hope I'm not as self-deprecating as I was before, jeez.
Work has been...interesting. Not particularly much to say about that besides I'm quite worried about losing my job. Education cuts are hitting my district hard. They're hitting all the districts hard, of course. I'm so annoyed that education is being cut in the first place. I don't know about Texas' budget or it's allocation of monies, but how can cutting education funding ever seem like a solution? It's not as if we're top in the country on education and wouldn't particularly suffer from a bit of cost cutting measures. Way to make it harder for future Texas, Perry. Idiot governor.
I can't believe how much is involved in planning a wedding. I feel overwhelmed. The dress is in but I don't want to go get measured for alterations just yet, I'm hoping I can lose a bit more before I need to have it in for altering. I do need to go pick it up, though. I'm excited about the wedding, don't get my wrong. I just wish I was one of those ridiculously rich people who can have a wedding planner to do all the legwork. At least Michael is awesome.
I'm finally back in a d&d campaign, I'm so happy. :D
The group works pretty well so far, I think. I hope I don't annoy them with my slow re-adjustment to the system. I've never played 4.0, so it's a bit weird. My character is named Ileana. She's a druid shifter, so she's usually an angry, clawed, furry thing. Hilarious. She almost died twice last session. Once because I failed my athletics checks twice, which is quite a feat considering you only needed to roll above a one to NOT fail, haha. My luck. The other time was because, like an idiot, I decided to play with a stone combination embedded into a wall without checking for traps. :v
Michael got me a DS for my birthday a while back, it's awesome. I'm so glad to have a DS again.
I read the Percy Jackson series. It was pretty good. There's so many things I want to read. I need more money for books.
