Today, highlight of the week: I was walking around town with Hillary (Cumberland Hillary), and there were these guys jamming in Tommy's Park. Guitar, bass, drums, Rhodes. They stopped playing and were talking, and I went up to them and complimented them and whatnot, and then I asked if I could try out the Rhodes. First I did a bit of Autumn Leaves, and the guitar player jammed with me. Then they were like, "You wanna jam with us?" So we did this Dm Em vamp thing, pretty repetitive, but incredibly fun. We were probably jamming for about 15 minutes. They were all really good players, especially the drummer. Then some people started playing shakers and it was SO MUCH FUN. And afterwards, they were like "yeah man awesome playing, glad you played with us." It was so sweet - these professional musicians playing in Tommy's Park complimented me on my playing. Apparently they play there every Sunday afternoon, so I'm totally checking them out next week, and possibly jamming with them again.
I went to a pretty sweet show tonight: Are You A Fox? opened, Jaeger played, and Dominic and the Lucid closed. It was pretty sweet. Are You A Fox was a highlight for me - I'd never heard them play before. I didn't realize that my friend Colin played drums for them. Very cool. Very interesting music.
I hung out with Sarah tonight. She's going back to school soon. It was soooooo good to hang out with her tonight.
I'm going to Boy Singers camp until Friday. I'm excited to teach the guys my new song. I really want to direct a song this year, as well.
Peace, bitches.
