This afternoon, I wrote music to the following poem. It's written for TTBB: basically I wrote it for Boy Singers, since camp starts on Monday. The poem is beautiful.

En algún lugar

Hubo un río.
Tallarás este epitafio
en el viento de la memoria
y cada vez que asomes a la orilla
me encontrarás fluir entre aguas lilas,
no buscándote
sólo yendo, siempre yendo
con fragmentos de amor
esparcidos en remansos.

by César Bisso

It means (roughly):
Someplace

There was a river.
You shall carve this epitaph
in the wind of the memory
and every time you appear at the riverbank
you shall find me flowing among lilac waters,
not looking for you
only going, always going
with fragments of love
scattered in pools.

The music I wrote doesn't exactly sound fitting for the Spanish language, since basically every song I've sung in Spanish has been very fast and syncopated (Procesion jibara). This is slow and kind of meloncholy. All I need is Sibalius or Finale or something. I need this printed out before I leave Monday morning. Maybe I'll download Finale Notepad downstairs. It's better than nothing. (I'm rambling).

I'm about to go frisbee golfing with Sam and some of his friends. Never done that before.
