Something I've been working on for a while now

Jan 27, 2006 18:26

Now that I cut mat board at work I have access to hundreds of different colors. These colors (and patterns) are so numerous that they were streaching for names that I've compiled for your pleasure. These are all real names and I've catagorized them but didn't put them in any order except for my favorite two. (disc. means discontinued)

-other-
suede boards(they have a fake suede finish on them, they are actually fuzzy)
Whisper
Le Beige
Weesp blue (don't ask me what weesp means)

ones that I thought were nonesense but turns out are real words but I still like them
Delft blue
Stonehenge greige

-patterns-

The first two groups involve small boxes all over them that make them look like screens or net that come under the categories(these are provided by the company not myself):

The Screening

the rest are as follows

Strange patterns(disc.)

-Just Simple Colors-

Prarie Dust
Gibraltor Grey

Sea gull(disc.)
Everest sky
Serengeti
Pyro Brown(possibly the best adjective for a color ever)
Fudge
Tide Pool
Wigwam
Pueblo
gecko
limelight
periwinkle mist

My second favorite

Chaps

Does the word chaps have a sexual connotation to anyone else. It's also funny to me that it's plural, but how else could it be spelled?

The best one there

Never avocado(disc.)

We have some of the discontinued colors in stock still but not this one so I have no idea what it looked like. With a name like that It could be any color but I imagine it was some sort of a green and I imagine there's a great story about it. I imagine it to go like this:

They are in a meeting for new colors and a british man is showing his newest greenish color.

Someone:It's sort of an avocado wouldn't you say?

British man: (clutching the board to his chest and looking very offended)
It's never avocado.

Feel free to correct me if you think my top two were wrong.
