FDR had an affair while married in office, Elenor would have left him, but decided(with coaxing from one of the pairs mothers) that it would be bad for the presidency, so she stayed married to him. They were essentially married friends who had like seperate houses and also lovers but were bound by the benefits of wedlock (insurance, what have you). What a hell of an arrangement. Put the infliction where you feel best.
