other points I wanted to make before getting Distracted By The Sexy: 1. Agreed about the Quinn reveal. I mostly made the point of it possibly being contrived because, retroactively, there are a lot of aspects of Quinn's behavior - and the one thing that really stuck out to me was the scene with her and Judy in "Ballad," where Judy gives her the, "Do you know how many calories you burn singing? Not very many!" line - that make a lot of sense. But it wasn't specifically built to, so I've seen some people arguing it was too easy an explanation. And one of my favorite blogs actually made a point of the extent to which the show's ignored Quinn's pregnancy in general, especially with regards to the reveal - they phrased it as, "Quinn didn't have a life-changing experience last year that taught her the value of friendship and what the really important and meaningful things in life are. She's just a shallow bitch cheerleader with a secret."
... but, then again ... the extent to which she wants to forget the pregnancy (as in, it only comes up when she's being snarky or when she tried to get Sam to put the brakes on) and the complete differentiation between pregnant!Quinn's behavior and not-pregnant!Quinn's behavior really makes a lot of sense. ... Yeah, like she's going to want to dwell on the thing that dragged her back into outcast status, lost her her family, and so on.
2. Will ... I think his character anymore is "all over the place: the person!" because ... idk. I feel like RIB gave him enough individual traits (especially being a satire/attempted deconstruction of the INSPIRATIONAL TEACHER WHO INSPIRES PEOPLE!! trope) to have him be a character, but they also wanted to have him and Finn available to serve as audience surrogates ... except that this doesn't work. Especially when their opinion of the audience seems to be that we're all pretty much ignorant, in some way or another bigoted, and okay with how the show is very obviously written from the perspective of self-centered, wealthy, able-bodied, heterosexual (mostly; I know Ryan is gay, Brad is straight, and all I can find for Ian are links where he talks about the Kurt/Blaine kiss), cisgendered white guys who are educated and witty but not that intelligent (though I give Brad Falchuk a half-pass on this, despite my RAEG! at him for pushing lesbian!Santana ... and apparently bi-curious!Brittany, when no, both of them look pretty clearly bisexual. Because he, in his episodes, at least TRIES to address things like consistency, character development, and actually handling the problems that people bring up about the show, rather than writing them into the meta-narrative like Ian and Ryan).
3. YESSS. SHIP SAM AND DAVE. COME TO THE DARK SIDE. WE HAVE COOKIES AND BOY!SEX. ... or cuddling. I could see Sam and Dave cuddling and refusing to admit it to ANYBODY EVER. (Because Kurt and Blaine are totally open with their cuddling and Sam and Dave are very conscious of any similarities they and Kurt/Blaine have and insistent on, "Nuh uh, the only similarity is that we're two dudes in a relationship. MHM.")
