The fail is all around us

1. I like it up until Cheadle shows up. All he is to me now is Bizzaro Rhodes. He's too short, too dark, UGH. D: (spoilers for Iron Man 2 - and I just remembered the comm is locked to non members. So you'd have to join to see.) UPDATE: the commenter has kindly screencapped the exchange. For those not members of tonypepper.

Aand, she clarifies!

It's not about the actor's skintone. It's about the character's skintone and the character looking inconsistent from one movie to the next. It has nothing to do with the fact that Cheadle is a darker black man, not as all. It's my inner character designer going ldkfjhgkldfhkld because it's such a drastic change.

eta: It just degenerates from there.

Then: Classic!

I just find this hilarious that someone is getting so up in arms over something so petty. I'm not pointing out his skin color because OH NO HE'S BLACK. I could give two shits either way about if he's fucking Asian or African-American or Caucasian. It's all the same to me.

And there's this gem, which isn't problematic at all:

ARGUING ON THE INTERNET IS LIKE RUNNING IN THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS. YOU MIGHT WIN, BUT YOU'RE STILL A RETARD.

And from one commenter (because there's never been any prejudice based on skin tone in the African American community):

Hell, I think he's the wrong appearance/color too. Does that make me racist? An oreo, is the term I believe? PFFF

2. I really want to write an essay about fanfiction/fandom and rape culture, but I'm not sure where to start. I'm sure someone's already written one about this, or about romance novels and the same.

racefail, fandom fun, i am woman
