Okay, I will never, ever make fun of "The View" again.

I'm going to tell everyone, upfront, that I will probably not be able to refrain from the occasional political rant as we ramp up to the November election. Just scroll on by if this kind of thing isn't your cup of tea. Most of my ire seems centered on the media these days anyway. The politicians can't help but be ridiculous lying fools. Yeah, I wish journalists were more investigative than they are. There's so much I don't have time to research on my own, dang it. I really wish people who got PAID to report on things would actually find some of the tough, interesting, no-easy-answer stuff & give us something with some meat to chew on, not this regurgitated pap that just reflects what everyone else is saying about X, Y or Z.

I didn't see The View so I can't really comment on it myself. Did Whoopi Goldberg really ask if she was going to be a slave again if McCain won, though? Was she joking? (I hope she was - If anyone seriously thinks the US will EVER go back to the evil that was slavery, we're in some seriously deep sh**!)

if you click through the link there's some clips of the show.

she was making a point about McCain wanting strict interpretations of the Constitution, as he was harping on the Founding Fathers. I don't think she really thought we'd be going back to slavery.

Ok, whew! As I recall from history classes, the writers of the Constitution had some fairly strong arguments about how to deal with slavery. I guess they came to the best compromise they could at the time (although I really wish they'd abolished it entirely then!), so it's fair to ask a strict Constitutionalist what they would do about those passages.

It's really bad when Jon Stewart is more ethically balanced than CBS or NBC. Ed Murrow is spinning.

Damn, that's good. You're right. And they had enough time to spend on their questions and answers, too.

I know, I know! It was kind of great. I just wish journalists would, you know, do this.
