Heh. I still have this episode to look forward to on my Tivo. But Monday night I bit the bullet and watched both "Missing Hours" and "The Big Thaw" at the urging of the meta, and it's gonna take a bit to recover.
(hellocleveland, I am *so* not up to recapping Thaw yet. I'll have to start with "French Twist" and build my chops up. Daaaaaaang.)
Did you just use the words "Sheena Easton" and "acting" in the same sentence? Gosh. There's so much of that episode that's bizarre to me, starting with the safe house. Vice's track record with safe houses ("Little Miss Dangerous") and hanging onto witnesses in general ("Glades", "Contempt of Court") is so bad that you'd think Crockett would have thought twice about bringing Billy to one. Awesome parenting skills!
But Gina's jealousy of Crockett's other ladies was there in earlier episodes; specifically I am haunted by her wild-eyed craziness when she's stalking Sonny and Brenda through Tubbs: "Who's got the toothache, Rico? Huh? Who's got the toothache?" I'm half-surprised she didn't cook up Elvis.
But at least the episode did have some boats that went zoom.
did i ask you to re cap "the big thaw" and "missing hours"? if i did, that was mean and i take it back. honestly, i can't decide which one is worse, but i have to give the edge to "missing hours" just because it could maybe be the worst hour of television i've ever seen. the graphics alone - when james brown's face turns in to clouds and then in to trudy???? Season 4 writers - put DOWN the crack pipe!
