OK, some of you may find this totally gross or even offensive, but many of you will find it absolutely fascinating.
The show is basically a bunch of corpses (mostly human, at least one horse, one human fetus, ...) in plasticine arranged to display their anatomy in ways that only medical students usually see (if then!).
The websites both for the project (Bodyworks) and for the California Science Center suck, so I've exerpted the info on seeing the show here:
BODY WORLDS: The Anatomical Exhibition of Real Human Bodies will be at the California Science Center from July 2, 2004, to January 23, 2005. Tickets are required. Tickets to view the exhibit are scheduled by timed entry, every 15 minutes starting at 10 a.m. with last admission at 8 p.m. The exhibit closes at 9 p.m. Ticketed entry times are approximate, and actual entry time into the exhibit may vary. To help you plan your day, please note that on average, guests spend about two hours in the exhibit, which is displayed on two floors.
To maximize your enjoyment of BODY WORLDS, please keep in mind that attendance on weekdays is significantly lighter than on weekends. If you plan to visit on the weekend, attendance is lightest between 10 a.m. to 12 noon and after 5 p.m.
