What are you drinking?

I'd also prefer another something green, but that's just because I'm not fond of green bean casserole. Tends to be to goopy for me.

The eight of us are having roast duck, carrot souffle, brocolli, something starchy that's yet to be decided, and salad. Dessert will be pecan pie and either sweet potato or apple pie.

And of course cookie.

There's some excellent points. Thanks!

I'll add salad, shallots and Dijon mustard to the list, and whip up a vinaigrette or lemonette Friday.

Hmm, some beer and wine and some soda for the kids then. I'm always nervous about wine with my family. My sister is a collector of local wines, and my taste for wine isn't as refined as hers. I'll can buy some local beer at least.

Possible brussel sprouts, or possibly asparagus? And I think you're missing rolls. How is it a family event if you don't have the possibility of forgetting the rolls?

Yes. Rolls. Even if they're the Pilsbury-from-a-tube kind. Rolls are a must.

Well, then! You ask her to bring the wine!

"Local" beer with my family tends to be Leinenkugels, as my eldest sister lives in the next town over from the brewery in Wisconsin and she always stops to buy a couple of cases for us when she comes to MI.

The Corner Brewery is all of 5 corners from us. I should ask Sister ~N, if it's not too late. I don't know if she knows about "groovy vitner so that might be nice to bring to the table.
