Am watching Ground Force (BBC America) and getting geared up to work in the garden. I really hope the wind dies down. The past few days, it has been impossible to work outside -- due to the blasted wind. I really shouldn't complain. On every episode of Ground Force, it rains. So bad sometimes there are water droplets all over the camera lens. It's England after all. But do they whine and bitch and give up on the job? Nope. They just take a break, have a spot of tea, and then they put on raincoats and make more naughty jokes (if you haven't watched, Ground Force is rife with double entendres.) So I guess I'll just get my ass out there, wind or no wind.
Planning a big, fabulous social-event-of-season type afternoon garden party for next Sunday (SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!!! - monster truck voice). It's to celebrate Noah's return from London (he's been away for 4 months). And it's also a housewarming of sorts, since I've never gotten around to having one (due to monsoon). Dan says he'll fire up the grill -- and get the hot tub fixed (it's been broken the past few weeks). I'm going to make all kinds of fancy things like tapenade and lemon tarts (from the Meyer lemon tree). And I really want to make mojitos. Nothing like a mojito on a sunny spring Sunday afternoon. Gotta go buy more mint.
So here's today's exciting news:
Just got an email from my friend, Diane Brown (
The Seduction Cookbook). We are going to be teaching single's cooking classes at Sur La Table in Santa Monica and at the Grove. Isn't that fantastic?! Even better: The Discovery Channel Sex Files show is going to shoot a piece on our cooking class on June 27th.
