I was reading an entry in Live Journal from one of my favorite authors about all the rejection letters she got before she was finally published. I couldn't believe how narrow minded some publishers are and how well they thought they knew the market when they really didn't. And I have to agree with some of the comments she recieved about how cookie cutter some books have been lately that do get published. It's the same characters, the same story line, the same predictable ending, and they are boring as hell.
I've been devouring books lately like you can't believe and I'm always looking for something different, something that will catch and hold my attention, something original! I can't believe how often I'm disappointed. It makes me all the more greatful that someone took a chance on that author of mine, and I hope that less rejection letters go out to aspiring writers with unique idea's.
-cough- I'm looking at you Bear and Kim. ^_^ Get on it!
