Over at Paperback Writer, Lynn Viehl (aka, S.L. Viehl, and multiple other pen names) has posted about making lists and gives a glimpse of some of the ideas on her Novels I'd Like to Write list.
And it got me thinking about which novels I'd like to write. I have several lurking around on my hard drive. Some started out as short stories, others never made it beyond the first page because I knew the idea was bigger than I could tackle at the time. But, I've never actually sat down and wrote anything out. I tend to think if I have a story idea -- a good one -- it'll just continue to lurk in the back of my mind until I'm ready to write it.
This is not the most organized way to work, no, but I've never claimed to be organized. ;-)
But, as a purely speculative exercise, the idea of making something of a wish list of future writing projects sounds fun. So, here we go:
-Government created creatures which have escaped and live underground are forced to the surface in a battle of survival against their creators.
-Cursed since birth to never be able to walk in sunlight, can she discover a way to break the spell before her kingdom is torn apart from civil war?
-regency lady finds her guardian has wagered her (and the dowry she has) and lost.
-A "haunted" house which holds a portal into Hell is torn down.
-A woman who can see ghosts is hired to decorate a haunted inn.
