(no subject)
Yes, I know, I could be working on my NaNoWriMo project instead of writing this post. However, this is going to be short and brief since I want to go bury myself in a book to shut off all the lists running through my head of things I need to do tomorrow at work. *sigh*
Obviously, no writing today. I know if I made the attempt I wouldn't be happy with any of it, so I'm calling today a rest day. I'm hoping to get completely caught up and back on track in the next couple days though.
I've tried and tried to read the first book in Nora Roberts's vampire trilogy but it just doesn't read like one of her books. The character connection I usually make as a reader isn't there. I think it's because she's jumping around with so many characters and I can't tell which couple is supposed to be the main one for that particular book. The story reads more like an urban fantasy than romance...a not very well done one either. Which is a shame because I had high hopes for this trilogy when I first heard about it. I loved the other paranormals she did dealing with witches and magic and such. But, the main difference were those books dealt primarily with the characters where as these new ones seem to deal with the story plot instead. *sigh*
Now, I just need to figure out something to read that I'm not going to get so caught up in I'll be up half the night reading to the end of it. I've done that the last two nights with Jill Shalvis's Get a Clue (Saturday Night) and Aussie Rules (Sunday Night) and I really felt the lack of sleep this morning.
