I did it.
I cancelled my pre-authorized payments for the loan. No more money will be automatically withdrawn.
Money is being transferred from my savings into my chequing for tomorrow morning.
The remaining $3,912.59 (including interest) is going to then be transferred to NSLSC.
This is a big move ... but now it will be done and no longer something I need to think about.
Good-bye loan!
I've been thinking about it for the last week (since my last payment showed I was under $4000), but I decided to stop just thinking about it and just do something about it. I'll get a letter in the mail saying my loan is paid off within 15 days, so at the end of the month, my loan will be deemed paid off. 2 years, 4 months. Big change from the initial 15 years expected for pay off!
