the LORD God formed the man The Hebrew for man (adam) sounds like and may be related to the Hebrew for ground (adamah) it is also the name Adam (see Gen. 2:20). from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Genesis 2:7

If even the breath of God can bring life why do we fear? Is it because we have trouble trusting Him or giving in to the idea that sometimes the hardest things bring the best in or through us as God prunes us and guides us through every step of the valley. Remember Jesus at Gethsemane when he knew it was hard to feel the pain and separation but He took the risk; what if we did the same, no matter what. Lord take my day, my heart, my will, my mind; mold them take them to your wheel and spin them as you wish, this is your life!

And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground-trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 2:9

Isn't it interesting how we always want more? Being satisfied can be so hard. Why is it that instead of being thankful when one need or want is accomplished we move right into the next thing making a list of desires? Does this bring glory to God? Or does this forget His display of love. Help me Father to see when you have satisfied me and to thank you in truth over your diplay of deep love and affection. Lord I thank you so much for this weekend and your sending and showing support to me and others.

The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. Genesis 2:15

God after preparing this wonderful environment for us to live in, gave us a purpose. We didn't just exist, we weren't made to be passive but to press on to obey our Father. Lord, help me not to be complacent through out all of the purposes of your plan. Yet guide me, give me wisdom to know who, where, when what, why. Encourage me when I am down, not to lift me up but just to be noticed in love. I love you Lord.

"And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die." Genesis 2:16-17

Limits were set for our own protection: God knowing what was best for us tried to protect us from being corrupted by evil thoughts. We are discussing the reasons for setting limits in our classes and how limits help children to feel secure. Also the other tree, the tree of life, that He wanted us to find on our own just as teachers are now seeing the value in children learning by discovery and personal experience. God you truly are a good Father showing and guiding us away from things that are bad for us and allowing us to find good in the gardens of life, thank you so much that you care so deeply.
