In which a new journey is planned

Enough of the history lessons for now. Of course, I find it fascinating, but then I have always been interested in ancient and wondrous artefacts. Not that I ever thought I would see any myself (other than a Compass) but I have tried to learn about these things when the opportunity arose in the past.

But now we have a journey ahead of us, this time to Tanara. To find 3 magical and ancient swords, avoid an even more powerful sword and its nasty Unlife wielder, and (as far as I’m concerned) to run at the mere mention of crowns, cloud lords, pegasi or in fact anything likely to get us killed.

Of course we have no idea where to look for these swords once we get there, but first things first. We have to find a way over - or apparently under - the mountain range that divides Tanara from the rest of Jaiman.

And oh goody - there is a civil war going on there too. Some aggressive types called Yinka are apparently trying to enslave and / or sacrifice the rest of the inhabitants of Tanara, for reasons I’m not quite aware of. Possibly just because of the sheer joy of conquering and enslaving. Bad enough there are those strange Duranki types, and their Miri mind slaves. And apparently some of those strange water elves, but we don’t really talk about *them much.

(Ok, I don’t really know anything about them, just that they live in the water and they are strange. Which I would think didn’t need qualifying if they live in the water. Sholari or Shulari I think they are called. Don’t know anything else.)

We have several options to get to Tanara - walk over the mountain through Blackhorn Pass. See if we can locate a lost tunnel under the mountain, Blackhorn Tunnel, which has been lost since the fall of the Cloudlords. Hire a ship to sail around the coast (very long journey. Not sure if I can face it). Sadly, we can’t afford the best way - hiring a Navigator. *Sigh* There is no way I can get a freebie on this one.
