Josie speaks...

I had an appointment today with Sherry from Spirit Paws for an pet communication appointment. My mom came down with pictures of Dusty and Annie (her current cat) too. It was an amazing experience.

Josie had gotten scared of the doorbell when my mom visited and was tucked under my dining room table. She stayed under there, but it was amazing seeing Sherry interact with her. She was the first person I have seen (other than me!) get close to touch Josie when she was on the floor.

She told me that Josie needed a lot of care. I didn't know much about Josie's past, but there was 1 thing I did know that Sherry told me. Before I get to that though, I asked about her past, because Josie has some trust issues and fear, so I wanted to see what was in her past.

Sherry told me that she didn't feel an "abused" vibe coming off of Josie; however, she felt that Josie was in a bad breeding operation, such as a kitty mill. She said that there was a male cat that Josie was close to in her previous place and that she misses him. She also asked me about the kittens, and said that Josie was missing her kittens and was upset that they were taken from her, as she was the best mom.

The only history I knew on Josie was that she was found outside in Baltimore with her kittens. 1 rescue group took her kittens, but would not take her. Once Sherry brought up kittens, I mentioned that to her.

Sherry said she'd talk to Josie about moving on, but did mention that the experience was very traumatic for Josie and it would take time for her to fully trust. She did mention that Josie was content and that she's 80% there. Just another 20% to go and that I should just keep doing what I'm doing, as Josie does like me and I am providing her with a huge chunk of stability that she needs in her life.

Sherry mentioned a lot of other items about Josie was right on point. It was really interesting.

Of course, I also found out that my cat is a diva. Figures. :)

Sherry also talked about Mischief, saying she was happy and free to run around now. She said she got mental images of her running in circles, which made me cry since she could not walk when we had to put her to sleep.

Then, Sherry mentioned the two boy cats we had, without seeing pictures, and got their personalities to a T. It was so cool! She also talked about my mom's cat, Dusty, who passed in 2005. She was like: .. Ok, there's one cat that is telling the other cats to be quiet because its her time to talk. Wow, she is a really "queen" cat, very in charge. And connected to you." (gesturing to my mom). And that's when my mom pulled out Dusty's picture, who was "the queen of sheba" in our household because of her personality. It was amazing!

Anyway, it was really cool. I appreciated it. She told Josie some things for me, and... yeah. It was just an experience I can't even explain. She told mom and I that we were great caregivers and that all the cats in our lives come to us for a reason. She told me that Mischief wanted to me to find Josie right away, because she knew that Josie needed help that only me and my patience could give her. It was really surreal, because I rescued Josie the weekend after Mischief passed away. I had gone into petco just to look at the cats and not adopt, but when I saw Josie something clicked and I couldn't leave that cat...

Anyway, I have rambled a ton, but it was really... just this amazing experience.
