Bleah and blathers and books, oh my.
State of me: Ow with a side of ow. I think the weather changing is NOT helping. I'm just a bit more tense all around, more of my muscles are just plane aching at the moment, especially in the vicinity of my back. (p.s. I miss alcohol. It's quite annoying to have that revelation that it's YOUR kitchen and you can buy whatever you damn well please and then... not be able to enjoy it. *sigh*)
State of my reading: I finished Anne McCaffrey's Freedom series, review is forth coming. Short answer for now: if you like that kind of story, then I'd say go for at least the first two. I started book 1 of the Dresden Files. It's a bit slow going for a number of reasons. POV change, new universe, and some preconceived notions I have of Harry because of the TV Show, also we've visisted a watered down version of this plot already. I'm not letting it sway me, I'm just saying it's going to take a bit longer to seriously get into it. But I can already tell I like the myth and such that has been introduced. I'm fairly sure I'll be getting to the entire series at one point or another. Please no spoilers, I've only gotten up to chapter five.
All of the awesome book recs and links to series order are awesome, thank you guys. Please continue to rec entire series with order accompaniment. Those amazon list are really awesome things if used right.
State of Ami's fannishness: Severely diminished despite having just finished the HUGE cowrite. Lots of bad things went down and lots of people got angry and we all got a little incoherent there. I still maintain that we were all mishearing each other and I may comment about it later. Much Later.
Right now the story that took nearly a year to write is off to the betas, officially, and now we begin to nail bite while the silence coming from all corners starts to become louder and louder. Don't they know it's all about me damnit?? STROKE MY EGO BITCHES. Ahem. Our egos.
State of my project to keep me and others entertained: If you saw my earlier question about del.icio.us, you probably figured that I was cooking something up. I was thinking about using del.icio.us to bookmark the books as I read them (probably off of amazon). Mostly because I know *I* appreciate lists of things. Need a new book? Well let's go see who likes what I like and check out what else they've read. Basically, a rec list. It's one of the reasons I made the posts asking for recs, now all I have to do is go back and see what people offered next time I run out of books. I was also considering adding my badly formed reviews to the bookmarks as well. I've got a few other ideas for it as well, but mostly I'm curious if other people would be interested in something like this. Maybe even turn it into something similar to ultimateficarchiver where we all get our own tag so people can see whoever's reading lists they want.
