Even though this is not directed at me, I just have to chime in to agree with what you said. I just recently thought of Trinity and how Rodney had to practically beg for forgiveness (not only Zelenka who's understandable but everyone else's as well) whereas Carson is co-responsible for creating a treatment that killed off half of a planet's population and now for creating this retrovirus. Carson's ego is just as big as Rodney's, at least he's as sure of his professional research - just not so obvious about it. Otherwise, he'd have abandoned the retrovirus after "Michael" at the latest.
And about the original topic here: I completely agree. Something's off - but then, I'd say something's off with Carson in general, not just with his treatment of Rodney. And medically speaking: Granted, patients have different reactions to the same medicine - but I doubt this was the first time Rodney was treated with morphine, so Carson really should have the dosage worked out by now. And quite honestly, I wouldn't want my doctor to have my coworkers be witness to my delusional reaction to a drug - especially since it was obvious that I wouldn't be able to give a coherent report.
