Teaching, grading

On Monday, I graded 52 papers.

Tonight, I graded up a storm at a local restaurant. It was very productive and I got my half of the questions graded for 80 Macbeth tests (my student teacher is doing the other half of the questions: there are 16 quotes, and the students have to identify and write about 8 of them, whichever 8 they choose...or more for extra credit, and she's doing quotes 1-8 and I'm doing quotes 9-16).

As I was like 5 tests from the end of my pile, the people at the table next to me (who'd arrived after me) got up to leave and stopped to tell me, "Wherever you teach, they don't pay you enough!" They'd apparently been commenting about how I'd been there when they got there and had been going strong through papers the whole time. Then they said thank you before they left.

That was just really nice. ::joy::

In other news, (not that I expect anything else from my home state), The IDOT Safe Driving Spokesman was arrested last month. For DUI, improper lane usage, and driving an uninsured vehicle. ::snerk::
