Still no computer, but caught up on life

Oct 20, 2009 18:48

I've been keeping up with school, grading, planning, grade entry, even (sometimes) my part of the dishes and laundry and reminding of others re: dishes.

Olive continues to be a joy.

Kids continue to be wonderful and to have their normal developmental joys and glitches.

Husband is truly awesome.

I. Am. Going. Crazy.

I have needed (for over a week and a half) to call to arrange an on-site repair from the Sony people and haven't had a spare 20 minutes to call and wait and arrange.

I am busy and frantic and can't imagine getting this done *and* keeping up with online stuff as I've done the past few years. But I miss you guys.

Did sophomore retreat in Wisconsin yesterday and overnight to today. I'm in terrible shape...and am officially Old and Grumpy about Everything. The noise, the activities, the walking, the waiting, the BOREDOM, the things I could have been doing while I was babysitting, the fact that I had nothing to DO... I was also bored out of my MIND and kept thinking about the 12 remaining papers I had to grade and the textbook I wanted to be reading and how I want to teach The Bluest Eye starting tomorrow once I'm back and the kids are almost done reading so we can really TALK (I have a really hard time having discussions until everyone has READ...hence it being hard to teach NOVELS).

We went downstate last weekend and it was good overall. I have all kinds of family and kid and personal news. And Scarecrow and Mrs. King is supposed to come out on DVD in 2010.

I never got to post about the subtle, step-by-step shifts as we have moved into Fall and how gorgeous they have been. The drive across to the camp yesterday featured the most beautiful leaves and foliage for autumn that I have see in years. Just amazing.

Waiting at home for me are hundreds MORE pieces of homework that I need to skim and grade and return. I was (almost--shy twelve essays) caught up for 12 hours or so...

school, catching up, s&mk, computer, autumn
