Volcanic Eruptions
Krakatoa was mentioned in "Rose" on DW, and it was the first I'd heard of it. The mountain and island BLEW UP in 1883 with a force of 13,000 time the power of the atomic bomb in Hiroshima. The shock wave and sound from it went all the way around the planet SEVEN times. Earlier that century in 1815, Mount Tambora erupted powerfully, throwing so much ash into the atmosphere that it resulted in The Year Without a Summer and widespread famine in northern Europe. These are worth reading because they're utterly fascinating.
Birth

AMAZING home birth, squatting in water, with kids and family surrounding her and brother catching his new brother. Not really graphic.
Another AMAZING home birth, hands and knees, letting the body do the work so each little bit of the baby's face emerges a bit at a time. Very clear view of every moment.
