iinga has been watching Doctor Who with my kids. When they were watching "Brain of Morbius," as Sarah's vision was returning, the big Frankenstein-chop-shop monster was coming up behind her.
My lovely, 5-year-old daughter said calmly and a bit condescendingly to the television, "Sarah Jane, honey, turn around."
Hee!
And my son is sitting on the couch, watching from behind a pillow, as we get through "Seeds of Doom."
And, oh, how I'm remembering and understanding my adoration of Sarah Jane Smith. She had and still has SUCH personality. She challenges the Doctor, talks back to the bad guys, jokes with and teases the doctor, mocks herself...and the show gives little character scenes to her outside of even the plot...it's all just making me every flavor of happy.
ETA: I was just talking to Elf herself about this and she said, "She couldn't hear me because she was on the TV. There was a monster behind her, but I was trying to warn her, but I wasn't on the TV."
ETA2: So Ben just demanded a turn, "NO Doctor Who," and Elf said, "Ben! Doctor Who goes on for weeks."
