Wow!Sick
So I have no voice; used it all up yesterday at school. My throat is sore and swollen. I can barely swallow. I'm very lucky that I can revert entirely to sign and still talk to my family (especially given the Evil that is my handwriting, which makes that option both slow and, um, less than entirely effective).
Must admit that, right now, I'm GLAD not to be at MWC.
I still can't decide whether to call the doc. I'm pretty sure this is viral but part of me thinks that prednisone would be a GOOD idea (I can't believe I'm saying that) since the inflammation is SO great and enough of a problem that I'm having trouble swallowing even the saliva I'm producing.
The congestion is still pretty serious--achy face, greenish-yellow mucous nasally (and, when I can check, it's what's draining into my lungs and getting coughed up), lungs feel like I've just run Really Really Fast out in cold air until I had to stop, I have a deep and productive cough that hurts my throat (and triggers the damn'ed stress incontinence). Face/head are slightly achy from the congestion. Started my period.
Ugh. Even my ears hurt.
And I can't even use the phone unless I get my husband to act as interpreter or call the Illinois TDD Relay service (after digging out one of the TDDs...).
Bleah.
Happy long, holiday weekend. So much for productivity.
