Election thoughts

A teacher came into our planning room the other day to discuss election day with the person he's doing Wisconsin "get out the vote" stuff.

He commented, "I think that Kerry's going to win by 300 electoral votes."

We just stared at him.

He explained, "There are new registered voters in record numbers and MOST of those are registering in order to vote against Bush. All the polls call likely voters, based on those who have voted in the past and the people who were registered, which means all those people are not being included in the polling. I think Kerry's going to win comfortably."

I still stared at him. Then I smiled and said, "Come back and say that every day."

I don't know that I agree, but it's the loveliest, most believable positive thought I've yet heard about this election.
