On Livejournal and The Offline World

I've been doing a lot lately but not writing a lot. I have plenty of thoughts on life and living but I can't really muster upthe gumption to write quick thoughts and ideas here.

If I have a fleeting thought or feeling I can quickly excise it via a 140character twitter-text or a slightly longer facebook update and the itch is scratched.

These days my livejournal posts are probably mostly read through news agregators and readers, rather than livejournal 'friends' pages.

This means that when my friends read what I say it shows up next to articles about politics and culture by paid professionals and news outlets. I think that removing it from the context of being surrounded by friends-posts adds weight where it isn't needed and diminishes the supportive culture of commenting and discussion.

I miss the days when there was more going on and people were more willing to discuss, because this place was a lot more therapeutic and useful to me then.

Of course, I haven't been here much lately anyhow and I hold no illusions about a revival, but those are my thoughts.
