beneath his yellow umbrella.

they both think it isn't right to share their first with so many others.

A/N: was meant to be something short that unravels itself into a one-shot (because i was too excited that Wooyoung called IU in a radio show), and makes me so delusional because i totally re-watched their Dream High Concert perf and interprets every second of it and writes it down. i probably should invest my time somewhere else .__.

Their faces are inches apart from each other, he stares at the way her eyelashes flutters against her fair skin. They are practicing their upcoming kissing scene, and she is closing the distance between them when she suddenly stops.

"What's wrong?" Wooyoung asks, his gaze focusing to Jieun's eyes that appears clouded with thoughts he can't seem to guess.

"I didn't want it to be like this." Jieun mutters softly, her hand is still placed on the back of his neck, but her grip is slowly loosening.

"What?" Wooyoung's eyes flickers and he finds himself staring at her cherry pink lips again.

"Our first kiss" she says, a lovely blush colouring up her cheeks. She looks up at him and meets his eyes, an act which only brighten the current shade of her cheeks.

"Me neither, I hate the idea of having to share it with the whole crew." he agrees, breathing out more air than necesary.

"Let's just fake this one" he adds quickly.

"But the director said.." she trails off, voice full of uncertainties.

"I'll deal with him" He smiles and leans forward to peck her on the nose before pulling away to talk to the director.

That day Wooyoung persuades the director into erasing the kissing scene. Wooyoung has always been known as a witty guy that can get out of any situation just with a few sentences, and this time it's no different.

"Did you say you both didn't want to do it?"

"It doesn't feel right"

"What doesn't feel right? it's work. Don't tell me that after you spent months nagging at the scriptwriter for a kiss scene, you actually backed out now that we're just about to shoot it!" The director sends Wooyoung a look of disbelief, and Wooyoung knows then that he needs something else to get away with this.

"I don't think Jieun-shi is comfortable with it" he reasons quickly. The director has a soft spot for Jieun, everyone does. So this should work.

"I think she's really concerned that we both are going to get so many antis just because of this one scene, besides, she's still underage." he adds quickly, and when the director rolls his eyes and let out a deep sigh, Wooyoung knows that he has won this battle.

"Fine, we'll just shoot your feet instead"

"Thank you director!" he bows and walks off quickly before the director could change his mind. His eyes searches for her and when he finds her on the corner or the set, he sends her an 'ok' hand signal from across the room. She sends one back, with a lovely smile that makes Wooyoung feels like all that arguing with the director is well worth the trouble.

But still...

Lee Jieun, you owe me a kiss.

I hope this tears will stop running someday

The day has been disastrous for her, she had to run from schedules to schedules without any breathing space in between, and arriving late to the concert was something the production crew wasn't thrilled about, as it throws off their schedules into a mad scramble. She has apologized to them but she's been getting cold shoulders from the crew as they run past her in a hurried frenzy to get the show going.

Someday after this darkness clear up

She doesn't blame them for this, everyone has been overworked for the past few months and the stress of the drama having to end with a bang is getting to everyone, herself included. The guilt refuses to go away, and she cant help but think that it would be good if she could worry less about how people are seeing her.

She sings, but she doesn't know who she is singing for anymore. Her head is in a muddled state and the lyrics only comes so naturally because she has sung this song at least a hundred times before, it is true what someone once said that once you repeat something over and over, it loses meaning completely.

I hope the warm sunshine dries these tears

Then her eyes catches his form, and then she knows that he will be that warm sunshine that will dry her tears. He approaches her, turning around suavely before kneeling down and handing her a very familiar lollipop.

When their gaze meets, it is so hard for Jieun not to smile back at his bright smile that is reserved just for her. Suddenly the storms in her life don't seem so scary anymore, it is as though he shelters her through the storm with that trusty yellow umbrella of his.

She takes the lollipop from him, and keeps on smiling, and it makes her miss her line, all thought weighing up around her mind rapidly forgotten. Jang Wooyoung has this effect on her, when he is around she is unable to think of anything else other than him. Sometimes it's bad because it makes her miss her lines, but at times like this, she is glad, for he lights up her life in all shades of colours.

Someday… Someday.

Jieun keeps her eyes on Wooyoung's face, he isn't looking at her, and Jieun is glad for this stolen chance to look at the way his eyes twinkles with mischief. He mouths the words of the song and she watches him, lost in the look in his eyes.

He leans closer to her, as he lowers the yellow umbrella he is holding to cover them from the audience. The audience roars louder and louder as their face comes closer and closer together. Her eyes crinkles with delight as she instinctively snaps it into a close when she sees his face is inches from hers.

Then suddenly his lips is on hers, and she doesn't expect this at all, so she just stands there, too frozen with shock to move from where she is standing. A million thoughts runs through her mind, but none is coherent enough for her to focus onto. Everything that she's been thinking evaporates the moment she feels the softness of his lips on hers.

The floor beneath them jerks and she almost lose her footing, but Wooyoung wraps an arm around her wrist and pulls her closer to him. She smiles into the kiss, hands instinctively holding onto his arm.

She always wonders what it would taste like, her first kiss. Now she knows it isn't about what it taste like, but how he is making her feel. It feels like her stomach are full of fluttering butterflies that are going to burst out singing about how lovely the world is.

When he finally pulls away, they are almost backstage, the part of the stage they were standing at has nearly reached the ground again.

"Now that's better" he said, with a smirk she adores.

"Oppa!" she gasps, finally gathering her thoughts.

"That was meant to be a fake kiss! What if someone sees us?" she reprimands him, hitting on his arm lightly just to remind him how serious this is.

"Well then that's even better, because now they know you're mine" he said, eyes twinkling with mischief as he moves to her side and casually slings one arm over her shoulder.

"You're crazy" she argues and pushes him away.

"But you love it!"

She sends him an incredulous look, and he laughs again, the ring of his laughter filling Jieun's ears and then she can't help but smile.

It's ironic that the kiss they were meant to shoot they end up faking, and while this fake kiss ends up being real. But Jieun isn't about to complain for anything.

"We still have a few performances, but lets go and grab something to eat later, you still owe me meals. Let's go, they're probably looking for us." He said, placing his hand on his hips in a forty-five degree angle, his other hand slinging the umbrella to rest on his shoulder. She can't help giggling to herself as she slips her hand under his arm, and rests her cheek on his upper arm.

This is why Jieun likes Wooyoung's constant presence in her life, for he has the ability to turn her darkest days into one that is full of sunshine, and even if he fails, he always makes sure that she wouldn't have to face the rain alone.

and now Lee Jieun knows that rainy days are best spent beneath Jang Wooyoung's yellow umbrella.

A/N: highly inspired by this news piece, this DH concert performance, various IU me2day posts and the fact that IU looks so sad singing the song and she lightens up immediately after Wooyoung comes out. heh :P hope you enjoyed that.
