Here, let me help.
Family is in town for a cousin's wedding, and we needed dinner last night. Our first choice had been a seafood restaurant, but being a Friday during Lent, that was a super long wait. I then suggested Zea's, since they are a) delicious, b) have plenty of seafood options, and 3) DUCK EMPANADAS.
So it's not fish, and I forced everyone to be bad catholics, but Jesus can't fault anyone for liking this. It's heaven in your mouth...
Duck Empanadas - roast duckling, cheese, onion, & peppers in a tender fried pastry with dipping sauce
My own meal...
Asian sesame oysters - Plump Louisiana oysters fried crisp and laced with a soy ginger sauce, Asian chili glaze and a sprinkling of sesame seeds
Since I ordered an appetizer for my meal, I also ordered a side of their potatoes
Dad's Trout Lafitte - Idaho rainbow trout with shrimp tossed in a spicy cream sauce, with corn grits and steamed broccoli
Aunt Misty's Bronzed Rainbow Trout - Two fresh Idaho trout filets seasoned and seared, with corn grits
Mother's Grilled Idaho Rainbow Trout - Two fresh filets seasoned and grilled over hickory, with buttered sweet potatoes
Grandad's Thin fried catfish - fried in corn flower, served with hush puppies and tartar sauce
My Mango Mojito
Shared dessert: Sweet Potato Bread Pudding with a rum sauce
Worst part of the meal? I had to argue with close minded religious conservatives, which is hard for me since I don't know shit (or really give a shit) about politics. But I have trouble standing by while people point fingers at one person (have you met our government? it's made up of more than one person). I also doubt that the radicals have been trying to "destroy our government since the 1930s". I mean, from a matter of perspective, are people within our government really trying to destroy it? That seems counter-productive. I also just take issue with people spending four years wasting their energy just trying to prevent someone from being re-elected. There seems to be more productive things you could do with your time, like perhaps trying to help, instead of working against, because what does that really accomplish? If things are so horrible, try to fix them, instead of just trying to find someone on which to blame them.
Best part of the meal? I got to take home everybody's leftovers.
