“Only because I was napping in the middle of the afternoon. But isn’t it the middle of the night in… wherever you are?”
Phil smiled. “Yes. But we’re running surveillance and I just finished my shift. And I wanted to hear your voice.”
“Shouldn’t that be my line?” He could hear the teasing smile in Clint’s voice. “Usually, you’re telling me to shut up.”
“Depends on what you’re saying.”
“How about ‘I love you’?”
“You could say that a few more times…”
