I love your opening paragraph; I could see Rodney being this way, always surprised that John was still there. I'm glad Rodney was able to put John's mind at ease about Rodney being fully informed and carefully weighting his choices - and then later that John convinced Rodney that he wasn't sleeping with him out of gratefulness XD Oh, boys!
