Namir Barrie pushed open the outer airlock hatch onto Telemachus’s dorsal hull, taking a deep breath of un-recycled air as he crossed to the person already lying on the sun-warmed metal, barely discernible in the dim moonlight.
“Everything okay?” Winslow asked, opening her eyes to look at him.
Barrie nodded, stretching out beside her. “Nice view.”
The stars were dazzling, undimmed by light pollution, since their ship was the only source of artificial light on the half-terraformed planet.
Overhead, a shooting star streaked by and faded.
“Make a wish,” she said.
He moved his elbow to bump it against hers. “Nah.”
