Things at Home: 3 humans, 0 cats (or 1 cat? Historically, we’ve counted outdoor-only cats as a half, and we have two outside cats, so…) It’s still a little weird not having any creatures in the house, and I did not get the kitten I asked for for Christmas, but maybe come spring, our outdoor kitties will be braver about the indoors.
Christmas was quiet but nice. As I have for the last few years, I took the whole week off before Christmas. At the end of the week, Dad also took time off and we all went up to the big Christmas craft market (our shopping was already done, we were just there for the food). But for most of the time, we all just stayed home, watching holiday movies and trying to figure out the espresso machine I got for having worked five years at my company (I’ve been there seven, as of June, lol).
New Year’s Eve was equally quiet, with the traditional snack foods instead of dinner, New Year’s Rocking Eve (and we actually knew most of the bands), and building LEGO kits. Dad and I (night owls) have a bad influence on Mom (our morning person) and she had no trouble staying up until midnight.
So, if I missed anyone, Merry Belated Christmas and Happy New Year 2025!
Things at Work: same old, same old. Except that my 2nd shift partner is planning to retire at in February, which is suddenly feeling very soon. I’m glad for her, of course, but I will definitely miss her. Especially since our supervisor tells me they aren’t sure they’re going to hire a full-time person (or anyone!) to replace her.

Christmas was quiet but nice. As I have for the last few years, I took the whole week off before Christmas. At the end of the week, Dad also took time off and we all went up to the big Christmas craft market (our shopping was already done, we were just there for the food).
