Sam wasn’t sure what she expected Jack’s reaction to be when she appeared in the guest bedroom doorway wearing a borrowed set of Vala’s pajamas, but it certainly wasn’t laughter.
“Wait, wait,” he said quickly, “It’s not - wow - I…”
She arched an eyebrow. “Go on.”
Jack crossed to slide his hands up to her shoulders, calluses catching on the satin sleeves.
“Carter,” he said, low and serious, “You are always gorgeous. But no amount of shiny fabric could be sexier than getting to touch you.”
Sam smiled. “I could take them off.”
“Gorgeous and brilliant,” Jack murmured, and kissed her.
